Houses serve as alternative families, primarily consisting of Black and Latino individuals, and are meant to provide shelter, solace and safety for those who have often been kicked out of their original homes due to being different.
Often named by fashion brand names, houses are led by "mothers" and "fathers" who are usually older members of the ballroom scene, who provide guidance and support for their house "children". The children of a house are each other's "brothers" or "sisters". Houses that win a lot of trophies and gain recognition reach the rank of "Iconic" or "Legendary".
1. Founding Parents: Mothers and Fathers who create and open a house.

3. Overall Parents: Mothers and Fathers who have the authority and responsibility for the administration of
the house.
4. Example: Overall Mother Jacen Supreme Moncler
5. Regional/Chapter Parents: Mothers and Fathers of a certain area, state or city.

7. Godparents: Mothers and Fathers present in absence of the overall and founding parents, they are in
charge of providing instances of house practices or administrative tasks.
8. Example: Godmother Isla Ebony
9. Overall Princess/Prince: Daughters or sons in the house who help the parents with the management of the
house. They can receive the house dues, organize house practices, help with the costumes, etc.
10. Example: Princess Egypt Garçon
11. Chapter Princess/Prince: They have direct communication with the overall princesses/princess as they have
the same role as them, but in a determined territory where the house is present.

13. Overseers: People in the house in charge of the communication between a regional chapter with the overall
parents of the house. Usually, overseers speak two or more languages as they manage several territories, they
can or cannot be any of the roles mentioned above.

诞⽣和发展 60-70年代，⾮洲裔和拉丁裔⼈群开始经营⾃⼰的Ballroom之后，逐渐诞⽣了House(家族)⽂化。
当时社群内许多年轻⼈都因为性别性向问题被赶出家⻔，流浪街头。社群内⽐较有影响⼒的⼈们便开始成⽴⾃⼰的House，收留⽆家可归的孩⼦们，⼤家共同冠以⼀个House的名字，共同抵御⽣活⻛险，共同在 Ballroom中为⾃⼰的House赢得荣誉。
当代的House⽂化依然有别于舞队，House作为⼀个⼩的社群形式，依 然不断给予⼈们⽀持和能量，帮助Ballroom中的社群成员完成⾃我认 同。⼈们依然以House作为单位，在Ballroom中争取荣誉。
每⼀个House都会有⾃⼰的⽀持⼝号(House Chanting和 Supporting)，成员上场⽐赛时，台下的其他⼈就会喊⼝号进⾏⽀持。
House of Extravaganza
历史认知的第⼀个House - House of LaBeija于1972年创⽴。较为出名 的例如House of Ebony于1979年成⽴, House of Ninja和House of Extravaganza
于1982年成⽴, House of Milan成⽴于1989, House of Mizrahi成⽴于1992。
